So it's Monday and you know what that means, Team Yankee Preview time!
Today we are going to have a quick look at the terrain you will need for Germany 1985. Battlefront has kindly sent over two pictures from the next book showcasing the type of terrain you will need to play Team Yankee.
The first thing you will notice is a lot of the terrain is the same as your WW2 FOW games. The main buildings you own for the Western Front should work well. If you bought all the buildings from the building subscription Battlefront did a few years ago you should be sorted on that front. The same goes for trees, rivers and most of the roads.
What is new are modern roads (the current Battlefront range of roads will be perfect for rural roads), silos, what seems to be a factory and maybe even a petrol station.
Next week we will will have the first part of a two part preview of the game itself and how it differs to WW2 FOW.
Thanks for reading Ben
Could be any one of a dozen villages in the Fulda gap....)
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff - I do think having modern looking roads and autobahns will be the key to good looking terrain - great that this has been addressed!
ReplyDeleteThis is outstanding. I may have to buy some.
ReplyDeleteWhen does Team Yankee release?
ReplyDeleteWhen searching for reference images for Eastern European architecture, I didn't get much but found a lot when search under "Socialist Architecture". There is a subset of that called "Soviet Brutalism" which is incredibly appropriate. The Soviet Brutalism style looks like the abandoned love child of Picasso's Cubist period and a cinderblock.
