My second game for the
WWPD Operation Sealion Campaign and a chance to play one of my regular wargaming opponents
Adam for the first time in a while. I will say sorry now if a few of the pictures are a little bit blurry, it was the Aviva Premiership final yesterday and so we wanted to get the game in before it, so I didn't check a few of the pictures on the camara as I went.
With the quick collapse of the Free Soviet Forces around Bristol the Hungarian Divisions have surrounded part of the British 1st Airborne Division on the outskirts of the town.

Fun game. Mixed luck for both me and Adam for most of the game. On the first turn I really didn't think about how effect the 17 pounders would be, and after that I thought I would probably lose the game. 2 fairly uneventful turns casualty wise and I was getting worried but turn 4 and the top of turn 5 looked as if I would take it, even ever cool Adam was getting worried. That was until my Tigers bailed to defencive fire and the artillery all but wiped out my Zrínyi platoons.
I have 3 more games lined up over the next 2 weeks so look out for more AAR's!

Sounds like another fun game. But I would have thought your breakthru guns would have decimated Adam's Paras.
ReplyDeleteIt was the 6's to hit that stop them from being that useful. When I had a good turn of shooting Breakthrough guns did alot of damage but most turns I just couldn't hit.
