British Paras vs German StuG Battery - Free For All



After securing the harbour at Christchurch in during the initial landings the German forces have made a thrust inland following a tributary of the river Avon. Paratroopers of the British 1st airborne have deployed from the nearby airfield by the village of hurn, their aim to delay the Germany's unroll reinforcements can arrive.

      British Paratroopers: The 17pds were at the front central treeline, the glider pilots and 6pds over the river on the left flank, the 1st platoon and airlanding light battery were in the central forest. The second platoon and mortars on the right flank
      German Panzerkompanie: The Stugs and iC were on the german left flank supported by the pumas, the panzergrenadiers on the right and as mobile central reserves

          TURN 1 SUMMARY
          British Paratroopers: The Germans advanced towards the tree line the Stugs opening with a salvo whilst the infantry tried to outflank the glider pilot platoon on the British left flank. The puma's advancing to the British right flank. The 17pdrs opened from the tree line whilst the howitzers aimed for the Stugs and the mortars added smoke to stop the pumas causing problems.

                  TURN 3 SUMMARY
                  British Paratroopers: Exchanges of fire continued the Stugs and 17pdrs exchanging fire until the 17pds were destroyed, with the centre now open the German half tracks moved to advance, but their lack of caution was their downfall, on the left the headstrong glider pilots started moving towards the opposite objective, whilst the pumas were attacked by a Platoon of paratroopers.

                          TURN 5 SUMMARY
                          British Paratroopers: With a new threat on their left the half tracks turned around to engage the pilots in the wood but the dense undergrowth caused them to fail and falter, whilst the English country provided all the protection needed from the German guns. At the same time the German commander and his platoon of Stugs attacked the Para's victorious from destroying the pumas, but to no avail and broke away to save their honour.

                              TURN 6 SUMMARY
                              British Paratroopers: With the Germans on their left flank now falling back from their useless vehicles the pilots opened fire before charging in and wiping out the German forces.
                              German Panzerkompanie:
                              The German commander realised this route was too dangerous a stronger force would be needed here and disengaged ready to strike later. The Brits had halted the german advance for now - but more were coming across the sea
