Hey, could you explain how the up and down part of the tournament work? It sounds like a very interesting element of the tournament but I don't quite understand the mechanics of it from listening to the podcast.
ReplyDeleteSorry what did you mean by the up and down part? Do you mean how the draw was done each round?
DeleteI'm talking about the army list. It sounded like you could either bring a single 1550 point list, or 3 lists of 1400, 1550 and 1700. I'm assuming how the draw was done each round was also related to this.
DeleteRight I get it now. Basically you could either play 5 games with 1550pts or bring a swap out. The swap out could be up to 1700pts but if you brought a 1700pts list you had to also play with a 1400pts list for every time you used the 1700pts list. So if you used the 1700pts list once you had to use the 1400pts list once, if you used it twice then you had to use the smaller list twice.
DeleteI choose not to do it as did most players. Fez used it to get the bigger glider army. I hope that helps
Ben
It helps a little. Someone mention (i think it was Fez) that if they study the scenario better they would have pick a different list. This got me wondering when did you have to reveal what list you were playing with? Did you have to pick at the beginning of the tournament which list to use for each round, or did you have the option for what list round by round? Also did this affect match making any?
