US Paratoopers for Market Garden

Hello All, Ben here with another  painting update,

I took the day before the Brighton Bash off work to paint up any models I needed to get done. The problem was I finished my US Paras the day before!

So what to do with my free time? Well instead of getting ready for Corrivaly I decided to paint up some US Paras for the new Market Garden book (not like me to get distracted....). I really enjoyed painting them, in fact I enjoyed them more than my Winter US Paras.

I will be using these in a force I'm planning to use in a campaign with Winner Dave, we're thinking of doing an Axis of Attack campaign based on the 101st Airborne keeping Hell's Highway open from Von der Haydte's Fallschirmjagers, but more on that later.

In the mean time I will be using them with my 15th/19th Hussars. I have an upcoming AAR against Winner Dave's Fallschirmjagers were they had their first run out.

Well thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed the post and until next time.

Ben

  3. Those look great. Very nice Cromwells and Challenger too. What kind of terrain/grass mat is that under your other terrain?

    1. The Matt is just the GW mat, it's one of the few products I would still buy from the evil empire! It's a brilliant product, you can fold it and the creases will just disappear.

The Cromwells and Challengers are part of my 15th/19th Hussars I did last summer. I will be using them with my US Paras quite a lot.

    2. Wow, didn't realize theirs looked that good. It looks like it has actual grass on it - is it actually a flat mat just with enough color variation to give that illusion or does it actually have a grassy surface?

    3. The mat is really good, the grass looks like it's sew into the under mat. It's the best mat I have ever seen.
