Volksgrenadiers - The Next Generation

Well I'm in a really good mood! It's well known that there has been one list I've been looking forwards to for, well forever - and when we chatted to Battlefront about the Berlin books and they said it would happen in the digital release - I started salivating - and now it's here! Yes Volksgrenadiers are back, and this time they're more reluctant and confident than ever before!
Just so you can catch up on why I love volksgrenadiers you can see my old articles on them here and here.

Options for Oxford

So welcome to what has been my headache for the last month.

At the end of October Ben and myself are off to Oxford pairs, one of us has to be allies (Ben) one has to be Axis (Adam).

Now there had been quite a few messages flying around about this event in our local group, and with the thought in my head that I'd possibly be facing hoards of allied infantry I began to think about what to take.

AAR - Desert Rats Lorried Rifle Company Vs Volksgrenadiers - Hold The Line

Hi all,

Dr Alex here. This is the first outing my British Lorried Rifle company have had. I started getting this army together late last year when Dr Cox gave me a rifle company box for my birthday. I've been building them up and painting them as I go and for some reason (mainly due to Dr Cox bailing on me two weeks ago) I have ended up with an army I have completely painted (sans decals) before using. As such I fully expected this entire army to suffer from Shiny Model Syndrome and die horribly. Anyway, Dr Cox finally turned up at my door in the rain, clutching a scrap of paper and a box of toy soldiers, begging forgiveness for standing me up and because I'm a sucker for a cute face, I let him in...

Volksgrenadiers - Nebelwerfers

Hi all

Adam again with more models for my volksgrenadiers - and barring a miracle, the last infantry I think!
I ordered these off ebay, but was a bit special and got the 21cm instead of the 15cm ones, but I think they'll more likely be those guys as i need the cheap smoke bombardment!

This is the second part of my volksgrenadier list discussion, hopefully it'll provide some insight into my thoughts on the list.

This time I'm covering divisional support and a list idea.

Volksgrenadier - Sturmtiger

Hi all

Adam here again with another bit of painting for you. The mighty Sturmtiger.
I don't know who was in those houses and I just don't care!
Firstly the model itself was a real pleasure to put together, with the nice bits of crew to add some character. I was apprehensive about the spare shell, so magnetised the top of it and the winch to keep it together or not together easily enough.

HI all DrCox here again

I've finished another quick unit for my Volksgrenadiers, but while the painting my be small the unit itself is very interesting.

Volksgrenadiers - Pak 40's and Flak43's

Hi Everyone

Dr Cox Here again with more Volksgrenadiers

Thought that as I painted these 2 platoons together I'd post them together.
Firstly the Pak 40's. As you may remember I did some Pak 40's earlier but with everyone else being in winter kit, I thought I'd do theses too. I initially discussed with Ben just getting the new winter anti tank group and removing the old Pak 40's, but  Ben came through for me with 3 of his own for me to steal!

Volksgrenadiers Infantry Guns - IG37 and HMG's

Hi all

Dr Cox again I've another 2 units for you this week, first up my HMG's.
As you can see my Volksgrenadiers are coming on, one of the units I think almost any infantry army can benefit from is HMG's.

Volksgrenadiers - Pioneers

Hello

So I have another unit of Winter Germans for you to enjoy!

Having had lots of experience with British para's one of the army types I hate playing is a fortified list. Due to all the obstacles I've really begun to appreciate pioneers, hence I got them for my Volksgrenadiers.

Hi All Dr Cox here again with my latest units.
I like Ben's para's most this way!

Volksgrenadier Winter Mortars

Hi Everybody

Adam here with more winter Germans. As I mentioned last time, I'm expanding my winter wardrobe, and I've just finished the mortar platoon.

Again I approached it the same way as the volksgrenadiers and once again I'm happy with the result. I think maybe a few helmets should be white, but discussing things with Ben I think I'll save that till I do my pioneers!

Volksgrenadier Company

Hi everyone Dr Cox here

Every so often you make a mistake, mine was to do with money... I knew I wanted a winter themed army, but I had all the stuff from open fire, so just decided to use that....

I caved the other day at my FLGS, and bought the Volksgrenadier company box, and now I feel I can admit - My name is Dr Cox and I'm a winter army addict!
