Options for Oxford

So welcome to what has been my headache for the last month.

At the end of October Ben and myself are off to Oxford pairs, one of us has to be allies (Ben) one has to be Axis (Adam).

Now there had been quite a few messages flying around about this event in our local group, and with the thought in my head that I'd possibly be facing hoards of allied infantry I began to think about what to take.

Flakpanzer 38T

Hi again,

my last little painting update for the Lehr...
I really like the background on these guys, Czech tanks, which basically outlived their usefulness and got repurposed for AA, thought I was pleasantly surprised they also ended up serving as the base for the Hetzer too.

Panzer IV/70's

Hi Everyone

For those of you that don't know Ben is the president of the Panzer IV/70 appreciation society, so it should be no surprise that he gave this platoon to me!

The Panzer IV/70 is actually a pretty useful assault gun in LW I find, It's got a decent AT and is significantly cheaper than the Panther which has the same gun!

AAR - Soviet Heavy Tank Company vs Panzer Lehr - Free for All

Welcome once again to the ongoing war between myself and the vile Winner Dave.

This was a damn sunny sunday afternoon game, after a BBQ and a beer - so I think we were both a little more chilled out than we would be normally, but it was still a cracker of a game.

We rolled up for a mission and got free for all - nice and simple for a sunny evening.

German Half Tracks - Lehr

Hi all,

Dr Cox here again with some newly painted models, today it's my half tracks.
I've had two units of half tracks to paint for my two Lehr lists, and I think in both cases they're quite integral! In the first list it's the Gepanzerte Aufklärungs Platoon, I would go as to say that these guys are integral to the meuse list as they give the spearhead ability.

AAR - Overlord - Desert Rats vs Panzer Lehr - No Retreat

Welcome once again to another AAR, Having lost to Dr Alex a few weeks ago it was time for a rematch, and this time it would decided to join the defense of Europe/liberation of Europe on WWPD's Overlord. Alex took his 7th armoured (which had crushed my Volksgrenadiers) but I hoped my Lehr in Normandy (from Atlantik Wall) may do better.

So with the lists ready the dice decided we would be playing No retreat.

The Care and Nurture of Panzer IV's

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to another one of my diatribes on lists. After a brief foray into Midwar I’m now back with my Late War love. I recently picked up on Ebay 10 panzer IV’s, and I’ve been trying to find a decent list to place them into.

The Panzer IV is available in a large number of german lists, and with little modification the list can change around it very easily, but you need a starting point for your first list – this is the story of how I decided that first list.

As for the models themselves though, I picked up Panzer IV H's, I know there are some differences to the J but I really can't see them myself, so will probably use them relatively interchangeable.
