Team Yankee - Unit Cards Infantry

Hello fellow gamers, today it's my great pleasure to bring you the preview of the infantry unit cards for use with Team Yankee.

All infantry in TY is mechanised...digging in is for wimps...manoeuvrability is where it's at.

The Soviets get two options the BMP-1 or the BMP-2.

As we've already seen there's lots of AA options at this level.

Team Yankee - Formation Cards

Hello all and welcome to another Team Yankee Monday update.

Today we are going to look at the Formation Cards for Team Yankee.  These are the equivalent of the briefing books for the WW2 version of FOW.
Anyone who has played Flames of War will see that these are very similar to the current ones, but there are some small differences.

The Road to Art of War Too - 3RTR - Part Three

Hello All

As this goes out to you it's three days until Art of War Too and the good news is I have finished the army! It took a bit of an effort mainly as I have also been painting up my Israelis, Cromwells and some Great War stuff you will see soon. I have also played quite a few games which I will detail here.
The last time I spoke to you I had to finish off the Shermans and I had all bit finished the breaching group, they are done and here they are.

AIW Painting Challenge Month Two - Adam's UAR

So I wrote this and it seems to have vanished into the ether hmm...

Anyway, this month I had the relatively small task of only 8 T55's this was due to me being on holiday so needed to be small - though having a large chunk this month moving house may be a challenge too...

Team Yankee - Unit Cards - Extra

Hello All

On Monday we show cased the new Team Yankee unit cards, this post caused a bit of a stir as it featured the T-72 and Abrams. Without all the information people started to try and put two and two together and a debate started about how "balanced" the tanks would be fighting each other.
Well we only gave you half the story as each card has a back to them with the special rules and the points costs, so today we are going to show you the full cards with all the details so you can see why the T-72 vs the Abrams looks like quite an even fight!

Team Yankee - Unit Cards

Hello All and welcome to this Mondays Team Yankee update.

Last week we had an overview of the new Team Yankee rulebook and I mentioned the stat cards. Today we are going to have a look at them.
In an effort to stop the need to have to check the rulebook for every special rule, Team Yankee will have unit and formation (more on those next week) cards. These will have the stats, Courage and Skill rolls and Is Hit On values.

Painting Challenge Month Two - Ben's Israelis

Hello All

Month two of the painting challenge has been and gone and I have been a busy beaver. This month I painted up two Ch’ir Mamochan (Motorised) Platoons, they are without transports as I was really struggling with points (not having the half-tracks saved me a whooping 165pts!).
Painting wise I painted them in four batches over two days with another two days for basing. I decided to do something quick and simple and after spraying them Russian Uniform I picked out the details and painted on Army Painters Quickshade. The basing was done the same way I did it on the Jeeps in month one.

AIW Painting Challenge Month Two - WinnerDave's Jordanians

Hey,

Month two has flown by, I thought I had some breathing space but it turns out I've been painting like a madman in order to get these done.  Even with a two week holiday off work.

Edge highlighting alone took me 3 days and I was so glad when it was done.  10 tanks at once is hard work.

Without further a do here they are...1415pts worth of tank.  My list only calls for 9 of them, but I wasn't going to not paint one simply because it's not in my current iteration of a list.
Blue square platoon, have a spare wheel on the front glacis plate for added ease of identification on the table top

Bedspring Armour (SU960) - Review

Hello there, Fez here with a review of the new SU960 Bedspring Armour upgrade blister.
The finished article
When the Bedspring Armour was first announced in the recent Berlin book, I must admit that I hadn't heard of it before! I was excited to add these to an IS-2 based Berlin list, however when they were added to the Hero Tankovy list from Desperate Measures I knew I needed to get some.

Overlord Brit v FI 4. Fallschirmjägerdivision 1750 AAR - Pincer

Hello

It's been an age since I did an AAR.  There have been a number of abortive attempts, but hopefully this candidate will make it to production.

To set the scene, Ben was coming over to get some practice for Art of War Too.  He'd had some recent success against Tankovy so the FJs were back on the table to give him some practice facing veteran infantry.

Now I've had a desire to do the whole, infantry backed by a single super heavy tank for a while now.  I don't think it's particularly competitive, but you do see it alot.  My only offering for this is an Elefant so I used the EasyArmy unit finder thingy and remembered that you can take them in Fortress Italy.  In fact I found a list I'd been experimenting with hand written tucked inside my book.

There were a few tweaks I really needed to make, like squeezing in an extra Shrek, and downsizing the mortars.  This is a terrible list btw, but I didn't have time to write a new one.

Alex Reviews: KR Multicase Kaiser1 bag

Fresh back from the ETC (well actually fresh back from the Edinburgh festival, but prior to that I was at the ETC) I've been handed the arduous task of reviewing the Kaiser1 bag from KR Multicase. First, here's a picture:
Before we go any further I should explain that KR generously sponsored team Scotland at the ETC this year and provided each of us with a KR Multicase to take our armies to Prague in. What we didn't know was that they also decided to send us each a bag for the case to go in, in my case, the Kaiser1.

Basing a Strelkovy Company

Hey,

Seeing as I can never remember how I base things I thought I'd make a post about the steps I'm taking, that way I'll have a permanent reminder.

My current situation is this...all the HMGs (6), command teams (6) and commissar teams (6) have had vallejo brown earth applied and is dry.  All the 4 hole bases (14) have paste applied which is drying and the 5 hole bases (10) are awaiting magnets, which should arrive any day now.  The plan is that I will magnetize one hole for fausts, flame throwers or a piece of scenery.
Sample of current situation
Textures of Sand, Earth & Stone
Love this stuff
Hooray magnets have arrived and are now part of my ever growing rare earth magnet collection.  I have loads of different shapes and sizes.  These are 10mm x 1mm, I bought them on eBay.

The Road to Art of War Too - 3RTR - Part Two

Hello All,

It's been a few weeks since the last update and despite painting up two months worth of models for the Arab-Israeli War painting challenge I found time to crack on with my Sherman army for Art of War Too.
I did really need to as I thought this post would be me explaining why I'm not doing a British armoured list any more and decided to use British infantry instead.  I did a "Robin" and ended up sending around 5 different sets of lists to Tim and Steve (once again sorry guys...); part of it was me trying to work out if I can use the list I'm running and part of it was I just didn't think I would have time to paint it all, but all is well that ends well and I have made a big leap forward in getting the army painted.

Plastic Cromwell (BBX31) - Review

Hello All,

The guys at Battlefront very kindly sent us a box of the new plastic Cromwells to review. Despite having a massive amount of stuff on my painting table I always really wanted to collect a Cromwell force so I pushed everything off the table, not quite literally, and went to work painting them up.
Whats in the box?

In the box you get enough bits to make 5 Cromwell tanks, the tank itself comes on a single sprue, with the only extra sprue being the same commander sprue you find in the Sherman and Comet box set. The decal sheet is the same one you got in the old Cromwell box with the Firefly, unfortunately this means that the vehicle numbers don't quite work for the box. Also it's missing any Squadron markers (the coloured triangle, square or circle), not a problem for me as I have a load of left over ones from the BR946 British Decals (Late), but something to think about when you pick up the box set.
